何甄陶:「Make sure you are doing it for yourself.」

對游水運動員何甄陶嚟講,泳池唔只係訓練場,更加似一個「屋企」。佢形容,游水之所以咁重要,並唔係因為某一個改變人生嘅瞬間,而係一路以嚟有身邊嘅人陪伴。
「泳池一直都係朋友喺度嘅地方,我好珍惜游水帶畀我嘅人。因為呢班人,游水對我嚟講就好似屋企一樣。」由大學游到碩士階段,再到屋企人同朋友一路支持,佢坦言,如果無呢啲機會同陪伴,自己未必可以行到今日呢一步。

「Swimming has always been a place where my friends were. I love the people that swimming has brought me.」

回顧眾多比賽,今屆全運會對何甄陶嚟講別具意義。佢話,其實每一次落水,都係同自己比拼——追求更快、更細緻、更完整嘅一場比賽。 而今次可以喺全運會呢個舞台刷新個人最佳成績(PR),對佢嚟講係一份好實在嘅肯定,亦證明自己仲喺進步嘅路上。

「At every meet, I’m competing against myself—trying to improve, refine the details, and put together a race that’s faster than any I’ve ever swum before.」

對於全運會,又一次代表香港、同全國最頂尖選手較量嘅機會。今年嘅賽事無論場地、氣氛定支援安排,都令佢留下好深印象。 「I appreciated the overall atmosphere. The spectators were supportive, the logistics were very smooth, and the presentations were professional.」

踏入現階段嘅運動生涯,最大挑戰唔再只係強度,而係「恢復」。要長時間維持高水平訓練,同時確保身體可以回復,再繼續推自己向前,成為每日都要面對嘅課題。點樣平衡訓練同休息,亦係佢不斷學習嘅一部分。

「At this point in my career, I find recovery to be the most significant challenge. Maintaining a high training level and consistently recovering so I can continue pushing myself is a constant focus.」

展望未來,何甄陶已經將目標鎖定喺下年嘅亞運會,並開始規劃新一季嘅比賽節奏。佢分享,過去一季特別著力改善起跳同水下技術,雖然有進步,但仍然有提升空間。

「As always, I’m constantly refining the details of my race and looking for small areas where I can improve.」

「Make sure you are doing it for yourself.」 訓練未必時時都開心,但只要為自己而做,喺過程入面搵到樂趣,珍惜細微進步,同時留低一班好嘅人喺身邊,就可以走得更遠。
